Dad Books Six Flights To Be With Flight Attendant Daughter (Sermon Illustration)

One father proved that his love for his daughter reached to the sky, literally.

When Hal Vaughan learned that his daughter Pierce Vaughan, a flight attendant for Delta Airlines, had to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, he didn’t let that stop them from enjoying Christmas together.

Hal booked six tickets so that he could spend Christmas with Pierce on all of her flights across the country and back.

Hal had never been on a flight with his daughter before because he broke his neck shortly after she graduated flight attendant school. But now, he was recovered and made the most of the opportunity.

Their story went viral after a passenger seated next to Hal from Florida to Michigan learned about it in casual conversation and posted about it on Facebook.

News stations and websites also picked up on their story and began to share the tale of the lengths one father went because of his great love for his daughter.

Pierce said, “I’d just never been without my parents on Christmas, so my mom took one for the team and stayed home with all of the pets so he could take his first trip since the accident with me.”

There’s not much a loving father wouldn’t endure for his child. And this story is just a slight reflection of what God, our loving father, endured to be with us.
